I am Simon and I was a lawyer for many years, working in large UK law firms before establishing and running my own firm.  After 25 years I wanted a change from the business of the law and set up afresh as a distributor of high end Italian bespoke carbon road bicycles.  That was fun for a while, and then I qualified as a teacher of English to speakers of other languages which was when the fun really started.  

I obtained my CertTESOL (Trinity) at Ardmore Teacher Training and since then have obtained Advanced Certificates in Online Teaching and Business English from TEFL.org.  These are in addition to my university degrees in Chemistry and Law, my solicitor’s qualification and a diploma in mediation.  I also have a number of PADI qualifications! 

The English language can be so interesting and versatile, filled with words that do not sound anything like they look, words that look the same but sound different, words with multiple meanings and so on.  Using any language in technical situations demands accuracy and the correct words.  As a lawyer I knew that importance very well.  I can help you to learn so that you are able to communicate in your business situations without ambiguity.

I see clients online at the moment, and am available from 09:30 until 17:00 Monday to Friday at my normal rates.  Lessons outside of those hours, or at weekends attract a higher rate.
