English is spoken worldwide as the language of business.  It may not be the most spoken language in the world anymore, but it is more widely spoken in the business world than any other.  Because of that it is important that business people have a mastery of the language. Even with a good knowledge of English there may be more to learn.  Many industries and fields of business have their own technical language and vocabulary.  The fields of science and medicine have many words that are now international in use, but other fields, such as law, may have terminology that is particularly English and knowing this specialist language can avoid misunderstandings which could be costly.
